What aptitude tests include
Aptitude tests are used for university admissions (NTS NAT, GAT and university-specific tests) and for jobs in banks, companies and the public sector. They measure how well you reason with words, numbers and logic rather than what you have memorised.
Most aptitude papers have three parts: verbal ability (vocabulary, analogies, sentence completion, comprehension), quantitative ability (arithmetic, percentages, ratio, speed and work problems, basic algebra and geometry, data interpretation) and analytical or logical reasoning (puzzles, arrangements, statements and conclusions).
Preparation tips
Revise Matric-level maths until it is fast and accurate — most quantitative questions need no more. Read regularly in English to build vocabulary. For analytical reasoning, practise drawing small tables or diagrams for each puzzle. Finally, do mixed timed sets: aptitude tests are designed to be slightly too long, so time management is part of the test.
FAQ
Are the aptitude MCQs timed?
Practice is untimed by default; mock tests run on a timer like the real thing.
