GMAT Focus Edition
The GMAT is used for admission to MBA and other business master's programmes. The current GMAT Focus Edition takes two hours and fifteen minutes and has three sections of 45 minutes each: Quantitative Reasoning (21 questions), Verbal Reasoning (23 questions) and Data Insights (20 questions). Scores range from 205 to 805.
The test is computer-adaptive at the question level, and you may review and change up to three answers per section.
What is tested
Quantitative Reasoning covers arithmetic and algebra problem solving without a calculator. Verbal Reasoning has reading comprehension and critical reasoning. Data Insights tests how you read and combine information from tables, graphs and multiple sources, including data sufficiency questions; a basic on-screen calculator is available for this section.
How to prepare
Work on accuracy first and pace second. Critical reasoning and data sufficiency both have recurring patterns that you can learn. Review every mistake, and take official practice exams to calibrate your timing.
