O Level and A Level
Cambridge O Level and A Level are international qualifications from Cambridge International, sat in Pakistan through the British Council and other centres. Students usually take around eight to ten O Level subjects, then three or four A Level subjects split into AS and A2 stages.
Many science and maths papers include a multiple-choice paper alongside structured and theory papers. Grades run from A* to E. Syllabus codes, paper structures and exam series dates are published by Cambridge for each subject.
How to prepare
Use the official syllabus as a checklist and practise topical MCQs and past papers for each subject. Multiple-choice papers in Physics, Chemistry and Biology reward precise understanding of definitions and common misconceptions, so read explanations for every mistake. Mark schemes show exactly what examiners look for in written answers.
IBCC equivalence converts O and A Level grades for admission to Pakistani universities and entry tests such as MDCAT and NUST NET.
