What’s in the PPSC

About PPSC tests

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) recruits for provincial government posts in Punjab — lecturers, tehsildars, naib tehsildars, sub-inspectors, assistant directors, teachers and many others — and conducts the PMS exam.

Most PPSC recruitment begins with a written MCQ test. A portion is general knowledge (Pakistan studies, Islamiyat, current affairs, everyday science, geography, English, Urdu, basic maths and computer) and the rest is on the subject of the post, as described in the advertisement.

Preparation strategy

Read the syllabus in the advertisement for your post and divide your time between general knowledge and the subject. Practise topic-wise MCQs daily, revise Punjab-specific facts (districts, rivers, history, institutions) and keep current affairs updated month by month.

Past papers for the same post are very useful: questions often repeat in style and sometimes in content.
