What’s in the ETEA

What ETEA conducts

The Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa conducts the engineering entry test for public engineering universities in KP, as well as recruitment tests for many provincial government posts such as teachers, clerks and police.

The engineering entry test covers Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English from the FSc syllabus, and has used negative marking. Recruitment tests usually combine general knowledge, Pakistan studies, Islamiyat, English, current affairs and basic computer and maths questions with subject knowledge for the post.

Preparing for the engineering test

Revise the KP Textbook Board FSc books chapter by chapter, because many questions come straight from them. Practise Mathematics and Physics numericals under time pressure, and use elimination before guessing because wrong answers cost marks.

Preparing for ETEA job tests

Read the advertisement carefully — it lists the syllabus and the weightage. Build a daily habit of 20–30 general knowledge and current affairs MCQs, revise Pakistan studies and Islamiyat basics, and practise the subject part for your post (for example, education and teaching methods for teacher posts).

FAQ

Can I use MDCAT and ECAT practice for ETEA?

Yes — the syllabus overlaps heavily, and one MCQ can appear under several exams here, so you never practise copies.
